Jewlery Care
925 Sterling Silver and Eco-Friendly Silver
925 Sterling Silver and 935 Silver are known for their antibacterial properties, making them highly skin-friendly. To maintain their brilliance, polish your jewelry occasionally with silver cleaning cloths or polishing cloths. This restores their shine and keeps them looking new.
Important:
Sterling silver is a soft metal and can bend easily. Over time, it develops a darker patina known as tarnish. This is a natural and unavoidable chemical reaction. To prolong the life of sterling silver and vermeil gold, avoid exposing your pieces to water, soap, chlorine, salt, or sweat.
750 Gold Vermeil
Gold Vermeil is not standard gold plating. Vermeil pieces are crafted from sterling silver and coated with a thick layer of 18-karat solid gold.
Key Difference:
- Plating: The thinnest possible layer of gold, often applied over brass, which wears off quickly.
- Vermeil: A thick, durable gold layer over sterling silver that resists wear and lasts longer.
Cleaning Tips:
- Clean Vermeil with a very small amount of mild dish soap and cold water using an ultra-soft toothbrush.
- Dry gently and thoroughly right after cleaning; do not leave Vermeil wet longer than necessary.
- Note that even with gentle cleaning, there’s a minor risk of fading or small scratches over time.
Gold-Plated Stainless Steel
Gold-plated stainless steel involves bonding a layer of gold onto a base metal surface. We exclusively use real 18K goldfor our plating.
Durability:
Stainless steel is a tough and robust metal that doesn’t rust. However, avoid exposure to chemicals and moisture to keep your jewelry looking new and preserve the plating.
Freshwater and Shell Pearls
Care Tips for Pearls:
- Excessive heat can damage the chemical structure of pearls, making them brittle. Keep pearl jewelry away from direct sunlight and other heat sources.
- Avoid wearing pearls during sweaty activities, as sweat can erode their natural luster.
- After each wear, gently clean pearls with a soft, damp cloth to remove cosmetics and sweat.
Important Notes:
- Do not use chemical cleaners on pearls.
- Always put on pearls after applying makeup and deodorant.
- Remove pearls before showering or swimming.
Remember: Pearls are natural products, and their delicate structure requires gentle care. By following these tips, you can enjoy their timeless beauty for years to come!
